I was so honored to be invited to second shoot the wedding of Michelle and Brandon in beautiful Salinas, Ecuador. The entire experience was fantastic – Michelle and Brandon are wonderful people, and their friends and families were so welcoming. The food, culture and people of Ecuador were all so amazing. I can’t wait to return some day and spend more time.
Due to some delays, we didn’t arrive in Ecuador until about 7am the day of the rehearsal dinner (Saturday). Fortunately, I was able to get a few hours of sleep before heading back out to shoot. The rehearsal dinner was held at the hotel, The Barcelo Colon Miramar, and was a beautiful beachside affair.
The next day was the wedding, and what an event! Michelle and her girls started getting ready at 11:00am, and we were with them until about 2:00 the next morning! The gorgeous church was located on the ocean with beautiful cliffs nearby. One side was all stained glass, and the other side had large glass windows to showcase the view. As you’ll see, Michelle was a stunning bride, and her dress (and shoes!) are to die for. The gown weighed 15 pounds… Michelle actually had bruises on her shoulders the next day from wearing it!
Monday, the day after the wedding, we all took a bus trip to the surfing town of Montanita. It was such a cool experience – it was a few hours away, and we drove through very diverse areas of the country to get there. We had a great time while we were there… several members of the bridal party – and the bride – took surfing lessons, and we had fun photographing them!
I could go on and on, but I’ll be quiet and post the photos now!
Did I mention I’m madly in love with these shoes?
A loving tribute to the bride’s father.
Yes, they all DANCED down the aisle during the processional… so fun!
These centerpieces were almost as tall as I am. Michelle’s aunt is an event planner in Ecuador and she coordinated everything – and it was over-the-top gorgeous down to every last detail.
Surprise Tango dancers entertained the guests…
A few random scenery shots from our trip to Montanita.
And finally, our glowing bride about to start her surfing lessons!
